San Francisco: Facebook Inc’s Instagram user base suffered one more dip after it rolled policy changes that made user think that Facebook would use their images without compensation. Although the policy changes were withdrawn later but there was a tremendous dive in the number of daily users on instagram.
Technology gurus are even stating that Instagram, one of the win-win pies of 2012 went on to the other side of court by the year end. Facebook’s deal of $715 doesn’t seem to be landing perfect.
Number of daily active users who accessed the service via Facebook bottomed out at 12.4 million as of Friday, versus a peak of 16.4 million last week, according to data compiled by online tracker AppData.
Nothing to blame on the holiday period, market for Instagram is expected to rise as people use the photo filtering app on the go when they share their pictures online. Instagram even disagreed to the AppData Survey data siting the steady growth in registered and active user base.
Facebook may certainly be trying to put its color on Instagram in ways that may not be digested this easy, but they are surely n their way and we look forward to them on this.
