BANGALORE: Padma Vibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, the celebrated exponent of the Hindustani classical music tradition will perform on 27th Jan 2013, at 10.30am, at the Indira Nagar Sangeet Sabha, 8th Main, HAL II Stage, Bangalore.
The event is organized by Vidya, an initiative with a mission “To educate and empower the less privileged through integrated methods and to initiate and implement progressive social change.” It was started by Rashmi Misra back in 1985 when she opened her house to educate some girls whose parents could not afford to send them to school. As said, VIDYA today is a movement of social change that focuses on seeing every less privileged child gets a sound education, every youth achieve his dream and every women be empowered to act as an equal citizen.
Vidya’s major activities cover education and empowerment. They keep on conducting events to raise funds and help children get educated and lead better lives.
Donor Passes are available for Rs.500, Rs.1,000, Rs.1,500, and Rs.2,000. Proceeds from the sale of these passes will support a number of VIDYA’s programmes that include schools, remedial education, computer training, adult literacy, skills training, micro finance and social entrepreneurship.
