Himachal Pradesh: No Fuel For Rescue Helicopters Sent by Air Force

TWALKITOUT Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh has hit out at the Centre for sending helicopters without fuel for rescue operations in in the heavy rain hit state.

Nearly 500 people, including foreign tourists, are still stranded in the Kinnaur district as the two Air Force choppers sent by the center had refueling issues. This incident has impacted the rescue mission and tourists are stranded at remote places for past 3-5 days.

Mr. Virbhadra Sing said, “There aren’t enough choppers and the ones that have been sent cannot fly because there is no fuel. There is no provision for fuel.”

Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh himself got stuck in the remote district and was airlifted on Tuesday. Since then 14 people are reported dead in landslides and rain.
